Three things to keep in mind when downsizing:- Storage: There is never enough storage (especially if you are moving from a house to an apartment). Make sure your new home has smart solutions and storage for the things you aren't willing to part with but don't want in kitchen.
- Your Furniture: Chances are you won't be able to fit all your current furniture in your new house. Decide what the most important pieces are (think china cabinet, family heirlooms, etc) and do your home shopping with these in mind...trying to forget about the others.
- Family Time: Just because you are downsizing doesn't have to mean you are cutting off your family-unless that's your strategy ;). There are lots of townhouse, condo and villa options that have more than enough space to entertain and host family dinners. If it's important to you, it's important to us.
